Coca-Cola Sabco (South Africa) emerged out of seven independent business units, which existed prior to the transformation process in South Africa.
Entrepreneurial black businessman Fortune Kunene in his home township of Vosloorus, near Johannesburg, started Fortune Beverages Limited in 1978, at the height of apartheid. By 2002, Fortune Beverages consisted of two plants and more than 600 employees.
Coca-Cola Sabco operates in seven Southern and East African countries and five Asian countries, and employs more than 9500 people. It operates 25 bottling plants and aims to fulfil the refreshment needs of more than 240 million consumers that live in its markets. It is a proud developing markets Anchor bottler.
