Embroidery is normally reserved for items such as golf shirts that cannot be successfully printed due to the nature of the surface interest fabrics and caps with middle seams where the image is to be placed.
Items that are pre-lined in manufacture, such as Dri-Macs and styled padded jackets are also non-printable due to the lining.
Costings for embroidery are assessed on the thread count of the image, and not the amount of colours as in print. For that reason, it is important for the image to be viewed in its intended size for costing purposes.
Care must be taken in the design of logos as there are limitations as to what can be embroidered in so far as size and font of type matter, vignetted or shaded images and fine detail. Simplicity of design normal produces outstanding embroidery.
Pantone related colours will be eye-matched to current thread colours, and because of the nature of the sheen in the thread, the colours may differ slightly when viewed at different angles.
